Valmet will deliver a recovery boiler modification including a new secondary superheater to Stora Enso’s Varkaus Mill in Finland. In addition, Stora Enso and Valmet have signed a three-year cooperation agreement covering process monitoring and operator training to support continuous performance improvement at the mill. The mill has an annual production capacity of 420 000 tonnes of containerboard and 335 000 tonnes of pulp.
At Koehler Paper’s Kehl mill in Germany, Voith’s SteamBooster is transforming high-temperature exhaust heat into valuable process steam. The turnkey solution is a central component in a three-stage heat recovery concept that is designed to lower natural gas consumption at the mill. The three-stage heat recovery setup, which has been in operation since June 2025, saves up to 1,500 tons of CO2 annually.
Nanning Sun Paper Co., Ltd. has awarded international technology group Andritz repeat orders to supply main process technology and key equipment for its third pulp mill line, as well as equipment for the new paper machine PM21, in Nanning, Guangxi Province, China. Start-up is scheduled for mid-2027. The orders have a total value in the mid double-digit million-euro range. They are included in Andritz’s order intake for the second quarter of 2026.
Jeonju Paper Corporation has selected Valmet to rebuild a press section and predryer section in their paper machine PM 5 in South Korea. The rebuild will improve overall machine efficiency and support the customer’s sustainability targets, ensuring reliable, energy-efficient operation of the paper machine. The start-up is scheduled for fall of 2027.

Valmet has been selected by Sappi Southern Africa to deliver a full EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) package for the replacement of recovery boiler components at the Saiccor Mill in South Africa. Hyogo Pulp Industries, Ltd. has awarded international technology group Andritz an order to supply a second DD-Washer drum displacer washer and a blowline refiner to its Tanigawa mill in Japan. The order will support the mill’s plans to expand production capacity while advancing its sustainability goals. Start-up is scheduled for May 2028. The value of the order will not be disclosed. It is included in Andritz’s order intake for the first quarter of 2026.
