Valmet and CMPC: Agreement for major technology and automation delivery for Guaíba pulp mill

Valmet and CMPC have finalized the agreement of which Valmet and CMPC signed a letter of intent in September 2021. According to the agreement, Valmet will deliver key technology and automation for CMPC’s BioCMPC project. The target is to modernize and increase the production capacity of the Guaíba pulp mill’s line 2 from 1.5 million ADt/y (air dry tonnes per year) to 1.85 million ADt/y. The upgraded mill is expected to start operation in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Schumacher Packaging commissions Voith to rebuild PM 2 in Myszków

Schumacher Packaging, a corrugated board producer and full-range supplier of paper-based packaging solutions, has commissioned Voith to rebuild PM 2 at its Myszków site in Poland. The line is scheduled to start up again in mid-2023 after a short rebuild period. After the rebuild, the line will double its production capacity of light weight containerboard from 500 to 1000 tons per day.

Andritz starts up new PrimeReel system at Knauf Petroboard, Russia

Andritz has successfully started up a new reel as part of the KM2 board machine rebuild at Knauf Petroboard, in Kommunar, Russia. The KM2 – with a basis weight range from 100 to 320 g/m2 – has a design speed of 700 m/min and a working width of 4.26 m. It has a maximum capacity of 155,000 t/a for production of gypsum board and uses 100% wastepaper as raw material.

Andritz to supply a complete pulp mill to Suzano in Brazil

International technology group Andritz has received an order from the Brazilian pulp producer Suzano to deliver state-of-the-art and resource-efficient technologies for all main process islands in the fiber production and chemical recovery plant, for its Cerrado project in the municipality of Ribas do Rio Pardo, state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Start-up is scheduled for the second half of 2024.

Valmet Oyj and Neles Corporation target for completion of the merger on or before April 1, 2022

Valmet Oyj (“Valmet”) and Neles Corporation (“Neles”) announced on July 2, 2021 that Valmet and Neles will merge creating a company with unique offering for process industries globally. The completion of the merger was expected to occur on January 1, 2022, subject to all conditions for completion being fulfilled. Due to the regulatory review processes taking longer than previously estimated, the completion of the merger is now targeted to occur on or before April 1, 2022.

Toscotec partners with Cartiere Saci for paper machine rebuild

Toscotec will complete the dryer section rebuild of PM2 at Cartiere Saci’s paper mill in Verona, Italy. With this new order, Toscotec will carry through the modification of PM2 it started performing in 2015 through different steps supplying a new calender and rebuilding part of the dryer section followed by the rebuild of the entire press section.

Andritz starts up tissue production line in Vietnam

International technology group Andritz has successfully started up the tissue production line delivered to Xuong Giang Paper Mill, Vietnam, a subsidiary company of Bac Giang Import Export JSC. The PrimeLineCompact S 1300 tissue machine has a design speed of 1,300 m/min and a paper width of 2.85 m, processing virgin pulp as raw material to produce high-quality facial and toilet tissue as well as napkins.

Toscotec starts up tissue machine at Essel Kâğıt

Essel Kâgit started up an Ahead 2.2L tissue line supplied by Toscotec on a turnkey basis at its Osmaniye mill in Turkey. This is the fourth tissue machine that Toscotec fired up in a period of only three weeks in four different countries in Europe and Asia. The new PM3 is manufacturing high quality tissue paper for the local market.
