Sappi Europe announces price increase for coated mechanical reels

Sappi Europe announced a general price increase of 20 Euros per tonne, or local currency equivalent across its Coated Mechanical portfolio, effective for all deliveries from October 2026. This adjustment is driven by a continued escalation in key input costs and the need to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of their operations.

Despite significant internal efficiency programs and cost-saving initiatives, the industry continues to face a structurally elevated cost environment. Costs related to energy, transport, labour, chemicals, and fibre remain at levels that materially impact production economics.

As a strategic supplier to publishers, printers, and the broader communications industry, Sappi Europe remains committed to ensuring high quality product availability to the European market.
