Lecta to showcase its next-generation barrier paper solutions at interpack 2026

With the slogan “Next-Gen Barrier Papers. Performance in Packaging.”, the showcase will bring together a portfolio of functional, recyclable and high-performance paper-based solutions for rigid packaging, flexible packaging and wet-glue labelling. With a strong focus on advanced barrier technologies, the solutions illustrate how paper-based materials are evolving to meet demanding technical requirements, combining product protection, processability and circularity, key priorities for brand owners, converters and packaging specialists.

Rigid Packaging for Food Service

During interpack, a new generation of EraCup paper cups will be unveiled. Developed by Lecta in collaboration with its partners, this solution - unique in the market - is based on renewable, bio-based and non-chemically modified resources, and is fully SUPD-compliant. Engineered for high-speed industrial runnability, it combines advanced functionality with environmental responsibility. This pioneering development marks a new step forward in sustainable packaging.

Flexible Packaging

In flexible packaging, a range of high-performance barrier papers developed from renewable raw materials will be featured, designed for product protection, converting efficiency and compatibility with existing packaging lines. Among them, Metalvac Seal Oxygen Barrier stands out as a metallized paper offering excellent oxygen and water vapor barrier properties, as well as strong resistance to grease, providing a more sustainable alternative to conventional multi-material structures. New developments for confectionery packaging will also be introduced.

Wet-Glue Labelling Paper Solutions

For wet-glue labelling, the portfolio includes one-side coated and metallized specialty papers engineered for high printability, consistent quality and reliable performance. With the theme “Performance for Every Market. Impact on Every Shelf”, these solutions support applications across beverages, food and home care, combining technical reliability with strong visual impact at the point of sale.

Technical Sessions and On-Stand Presentations

In addition to product displays, technical presentations and on-stand sessions will take place on 8 and 12 May, focusing on paper cup innovations and high-barrier metallized papers. These sessions will offer practical insights into real converting applications and promote direct exchange with brand owners, converters and industry professionals, reinforcing a collaborative approach to innovation.
