Emtec Electronic at Paper & Tissue Expo Istanbul

In this energy-intensive industry, paper makers and their suppliers are under increasing pressure to be globally competitive while protecting the environment. In order to meet sustainable, ecological and resource-efficient requirements, emtec Electronic offers innovative measuring devices whose use enables informed decision-making, resulting in superior product quality, fewer rejects, reduced machine stops, and lower resource consumption.

Together with its Turkish partner company Labtek, the German testing equipment manufacturer emtec Electronic will be exhibiting at Paper & Tissue Expo at the ICC, Istanbul Congress Center, from May 26 to 28 at booth E112. The testing solutions presented provide critical insights into the actual condition of the pulp composition, as well as paper properties such as pore structure and haptics.

Starting with the wet-end of the papermaking process, the emtec product portfolio offers the CAS touch! Charge Analyzing System and the FPA touch! Fiber Potential Analyzer. These two portable laboratory devices are often used together to precisely determine the particle charge and fiber zeta potential. Chemical suppliers in particular appreciate their light weight and small size.

Moreover, the FPO Fiber Potential Analyzer Online provides a digital and automated solution for monitoring the zeta potential of fibers and fillers. The FPO can be installed at various points in the paper machine and automatically handles sampling, measuring and cleaning. It continuously sends measurement data to the mill’s process control system or to a data cloud, thus enabling global access. Through this permanent process control, current measured values as well as past data can be used for evaluations.

For base and final products, emtec showcases the softness measuring device TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer in a new design. Compared to its predecessor model, with a proven track record in the tissue industry and better known as the Tissue Softness Analyzer, the redesigned device has been equipped with a touchscreen for an easier handling. In addition to fiber softness, the device also measures flexibility and surface smoothness. The emtec portfolio is further complemented by the EST Surface & Sizing Tester, which provides information on surface properties such as porosity, water repellence and sizing to predict the suitability of paper and board ability for coating, gluing and printing.

Attendees of the Paper & Tissue Expo in Turkey are invited to visit the emtec booth E112 to explore these innovative technologies. Daniel Ohndorf (Sales Area Manager, emtec) and Cem Dipcin (Managing Partner, Labtek) will be on site to offer detailed insights into functionalities and benefits of each device and discuss how emtec's solutions can be customized to meet specific production needs.
