Voith expands proven film press portfolio with eVenFilm Pro

In paper and board production, sizing and coating is an essential fin-ishing step. This is where the film press applies a thin, controlled and uniform starch coating to the sheet surface. The process directly im-pacts final paper and board quality, surface properties, printability, strength and performance. Voith’s robust eVenFilm portfolio is de-signed specifically for the sizing and coating section of the paper pro-duction line.

Extended runtimes in extreme film press conditions

Developed in response to growing demand for highly durable film press roll covers, eVenFilm Pro is engineered to withstand higher line loads in the press nip, starch temperatures above 60°C and abrasive starch applications. eVenFilm Pro is also suitable for rolls that have no cooling systems during start up.

The roll cover for maximum protection against water permeation

In harsh environments, film press roll covers can weaken over time from a build-up of water permeation, resulting in unexpected cover failure. Severe water permeation leads to costly unplanned shutdowns and corrosion damage to the roll.

Building on the proven Voith roll cover technology and the eVenFilm range of covers, Voith experts have enhanced the polymer matrix de-sign of eVenFilm roll covers to provide superior resistance to mechani-cal wear and greater protection against water permeation. For added protection, an integrated safety module significantly reduces water permeation rates.

The new film press roll cover features an upgraded modular fiber and filler concept that can be individually tailored to the operating condi-tions, machine set-up and production goals. To ensure the most suita-ble roll cover is selected for each configuration and application, Voith experts work closely with papermakers.
