Dear ipw reader,

could it be possible that UPM is really turning over a new leaf in car production?

The company just announced that its Biofore concept car is to premiere at the 84th Geneva International Motor Show. Various parts of the futuristic vehicle will be made from UPM Formi biocomposite and UPM Grada thermoformable wood material, it will be fuelled by UPM BioVerno wood-based renewable diesel and UPM Raflatac label materials will be used to mark spare parts as well as in the interior and exterior design of the car.

In the recent edition of our biofibre magazine we have already reported on this unique project and I am really curious to see how much attention it will draw at one of the automotive industry’s most esteemed events! It could be the perfect occasion to demonstrate the power of renewable biomaterials from this industry to a new world-wide audience.

As always, we will report on it in any event!

Sincerely,

PS: Interested Zellcheming Exhibitors are invited to a Get Together on Dec. 3rd, 2013 at the new venue in Frankfurt. Please contact zellcheming@mesago.de for details. ipw looks forward to seeing you there (greetings from the Cepi Paperweek in Brussels)!
