Bedford Paper invests in third tissue-converting line from PCMC

Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC), part of Barry-Wehmiller and a tissue-converting equipment provider, has announced the sale of a third tissue-converting line to Bedford Paper, a De Pere, Wisconsin-based manufacturer of high-quality paper products.

“We’re excited to continue our time-honored relationship with PCMC,” said Steve Peters, President of Bedford Paper. “We’ve relied on the company’s technology and support to keep our business moving forward for nearly a decade. We also value the fact that PCMC’s machines are engineered and built in the United States, which gives us added confidence in the long-term performance of a significant investment like this one.”

The additional tissue line is necessary to meet the growing production needs of the business. While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause unprecedented demand on Bedford Paper’s capacity, the tissue manufacturer was already experiencing capacity restraints before the pandemic.

With the growth of Bedford Paper’s facility footprint in northeast Wisconsin, the business will become one of the largest independent tissue converters in the Midwest. The expansion, planned to break ground in the spring of 2021, will triple the current facility’s size - giving Bedford Paper nearly 350,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

“It’s a privilege for PCMC to grow with Bedford Paper,” said Jason Hilsberg, Sales Director for PCMC. “We’re honored to see a fellow Wisconsin-based business thrive in these uncertain times, and look forward to continuing our partnership for years to come.”
