Valmet strengthens its business by acquiring PMP Group

On September 11, Valmet has entered into an agreement to acquire PMP Group in Poland. The enterprise value of the acquisition is approximately EUR 64 million, plus a conditional and capped earn-out component. The acquisition is estimated to be completed on October 1, 2020 at the earliest.

ANDRITZ to supply four PrimeLineCOMPACT M 1600 tissue machines to Guangdong Hengan in China

International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Guangdong Hengan Paper Co., Ltd. (Hengan) to supply four tissue machines to its new mill in Yunfu, Guangdong, China, for the production of high-quality facial, toilet, handkerchief and napkin tissue grades made of virgin market pulp.

Toscotec launches new Optima rewinders for top winding quality and efficiency

Following a complete design upgrade of its rewinder line, Toscotec launched the new Optima rewinders. The new line has achieved recognition in the market with eight rewinders already sold in Europe, North America and Asia, including single and double width machines.

ABB supplies electrical package and drives automation to new Grupo Gondi mill in Monterrey, Mexico

ABB has supplied and commissioned a full electrical solution for major packaging paper producer Grupo Gondi at its greenfield site in Monterrey, Mexico. The project includes switchgear, transformers, motors, drives, and automation for the paper machine drive system with the distributed control system, ABB Ability™ System 800xA.

HolyGrail 2.0: Mondi trials digital watermarking

Mondi has joined forces with AIM, the European Brands Association, and other partners across the value chain to prove the viability of digital watermarking for sorting waste at scale. The HolyGrail 2.0 initiative has the ambitious goal of assessing whether this pioneering digital technology can enable better sorting and higher-quality recycling rates for packaging in the EU, thereby driving a truly circular economy.

Metris DryQ from ANDRITZ improves performance at Montes del Plata

The new intelligent solution for pulp drying, Metris DryQ, developed by international technology group ANDRITZ, is operating successfully at the Montes del Plata pulp mill in Punta Pereira, Uruguay. It was installed in September 2019 as part of a mill-wide service agreement called SYNERGY, which includes remote support and local assistance by ANDRITZ experts, with the aim of boosting dryer performance and stabilizing the process.

PulpEye overcomes pandemic obstacles with a special service package

To minimise the spread of Covid-19, mills are very restrictive to receive visitors unless critical to mill production. On top of that, several travel restrictions are in place and even changing from time to time which makes personal visits very difficult. PulpEye has therefore created a special service package including weekly follow-ups on remote basis to overcome these problems.
