Henkel enables recyclable paper packaging with new Loctite Liofol HS 2809-22 RE

When it comes to the overall recyclability of a packaging, the choice of packaging substrates is typically being discussed. As an actor in adhesives and coatings for the packaging industry, Henkel is committed to actively support a circular economy by working closely with their partners to develop solutions that are both sustainable and functional. After launching its RE range that is “designed for recycling” last year, the company is now expanding the range with Loctite Liofol HS 2809-22 RE. The heat seal coating, which is certified for its recyclablity with paper, redefines how packaging can be designed.

Valmet chosen by EPC Hitachi Zosen Inova AG to deliver automation for greenfield waste-to-energy plant in Moscow, Russia

Valmet will supply automation to a new waste-to-energy facility in Moscow, Russia. The order was placed by Hitachi Zosen Inova AG (HZI), the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the facility. This is the twelfth time that HZI has chosen Valmet’s automation technology for its waste-to-energy plant projects. The plant will be owned and operated by Alternative Generating Company-1 (AGC-1).

Valmet to supply automation to AustroCel’s new bioethanol plant in Hallein, Austria

Valmet will supply automation to AustroCel’s bioethanol plant currently under construction in Hallein, Austria. The advanced automation technology will provide the plant with high operational flexibility, reliability and availability in producing biofuel to replace fossil fuel. The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the first quarter 2020. The value of the order is not disclosed. The delivery will take place in June 2020, and the plant will start its operation at the end of 2020.

Valmet to supply automation technology to Stora Enso in Finland

Valmet will supply automation technology to Stora Enso’s Oulu Mill in Finland. Valmet and Stora Enso share a long history of partnership and this delivery will strengthen the cooperation further. The automation orders are related to Stora Enso’s paper machine (PM 7) grade conversion project delivered by Valmet. The orders were included in Valmet’s orders received of the fourth quarter 2019 and the first quarter 2020. The automation technology will be delivered for the start-up of the rebuilt PM 7 which is scheduled for the end of 2020. The value of the orders is not disclosed.

Main equipment purchases for Metsä Group’s investment projects in Finland agreed

Metsä Fibre, part of Metsä Group, has agreed on the main equipment purchases for the new sawmill to be built in Rauma and the planned bioproduct mill in Kemi. The total value of the agreements is approximately EUR 500 million and their degree of Finnish content 70 per cent. In the spring of 2019, Metsä Group started the pre-engineering for investments totalling roughly EUR 2 billion, including the Rauma sawmill, Kemi bioproduct mill and the first phase of the modernisation of the Husum pulp mill in Sweden. With these investments, Metsä Group meets across the entire forest industry value chain the needs of forest owners and its customers even better than before.

Valmet and Metsä Fibre have signed a preliminary agreement for key technology and automation delivery to the planned Kemi bioproduct mill in Finland

Valmet and Metsä Fibre, which is part of Metsä Group, have signed a preliminary agreement according to which Valmet will deliver key technology covering all main process islands and automation systems to Metsä Fibre's planned Kemi bioproduct mill in Finland. The final agreement is subject to Metsä Fibre's investment decision. Metsä Fibre has announced that the readiness for the decision is expected to be reached during autumn 2020. If materialized, the new bioproduct mill would have an annual pulp production capacity of 1.5 million tonnes and in addition produce various other bioproducts. The production of the new mill is scheduled to begin in 2023.
