Inken Schoenauer Editor-in-chief |
Dear ipw reader,
big companies are finally realising their customers prefer sustainable, recyclable products - like paper - to plastic. McDonalds is switching to paper straws and Ikea has comitted to eliminate plastic alltogether (see news below). Considering all the images of plastic waste in the oceans, we hope this change picks up in momentum. As resource economist Ted Siegler said: "This isn't a problem where we don't know what the solution is." You can read more on this on the National Geographic Magazine website, see here! Our new issue of ipw - bio-fibre magazine is out, click on the cover to see more. Sincerely, your ipw and bio-fibre team |
