Editor-in-chief
Dear ipw reader,

I just returned from Valmet’s first Customer Days held in Berlin, Germany. Almost 250 customers from more than 30 countries attended the event – among them 75% from the pulp and paper business! President & CEO Pasi Laine declared that according to recent net sales, Valmet is the biggest technology supplier to this industry - and this inspiring and perfectly organized event strongly suggests  that it intends to remain on top!

Laine also proudly announced that Valmet was now listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index as well as in the Nordic Climate Disclosure Leadership Index. In both cases, it is in best company (together with Stora Enso, SCA, Metsä Board and UPM) and reflects that this industry has made tremendous progress in terms of sustainability and transparency. All in all, it seems to pay off to stay ahead!

In upcoming weeks I will head to London for the British Wood Pulp Week and to Brussels for CEPI's European Paper Week - reports on all these events will be published in the December issue.

Sincerely,
