Dear ipw reader,
it’s always nice to start with some good news: Europe is the global champion in paper recycling! An impressive 71.7% paper recycling rate was just announced by the European Recovered Paper Council (ERPC). In their annual monitoring report the ERPC revealed that current paper consumption in Europe has dropped by 13% to the level of 1998, but the recycled amount of paper is 1.5 times higher than in 1998 – definitely a remarkable achievement. Furthermore, the ERPC reports that in Europe paper fibre is recycled an astounding 3.5 times a year; world-wide the average is 2.4 times. This shows that the huge efforts the European paper value chain devotes to paper recycling year after year are paying off! Hopefully the other efforts of this industry will do so as well... Wetend Technologies Ltd. will invest 2 million euros during the next three years to develop the Flash Mixing technology. Metso: Automation upgrade at Délipapier mill, France
Metso has received an order from the Sofidel Group to upgrade the automation of TM 1 and water treatment at its Délipapier plant in Frouard, France.
