Toscotec: Starting-up first TT steel yankee dryer in Japan

Toscotec successfully started-up the first TT SYD(Steel Yankee Dryer) installed in Japan. The TT SYD-12FT was supplied to Nishinihon Eizai Co. Ltd., a leading producer of tissue located in Tatsuno-chō, near Osaka.

Daniel Peltonen is new manager of Hallsta Paper mill

Holmen Paper has appointed Daniel Peltonen as the new manager of Hallsta Paper Mill. Peltonen just took up his post and succeeded Kenneth Ohlsson, who left the company.

Metso: To acquire full ownership of the MW Power joint venture

Metso and Wärtsilä have agreed that Wärtsilä’s holding in their MW Power joint venture will be acquired by Metso. Metso currently owns 60% and Wärtsilä 40% of MW Power. The arrangement is subject to permission from the EU competition authorities.

Portucel Soporcel: Taking part in RIO+20 Conference

In view of the strategic importance to Portugal’s economic, environmental and social development of the management of its forestry resources, Paula Guimarães, in charge of forest certification at the Portucel Soporcel group, made a presentation in the Portuguese Pavilion on “Forest Management and Certification in the Portuguese Paper Industry”.

FAO: Putting forests at the heart of a new, greener economy

The world's forests have a major role to play in the transition to a new, greener economy, a theme being discussed at the Rio+20 Conference. But to spark that shift, governments must enact programs and policies aimed at both unlocking the potential of forests and ensuring that they are sustainably managed, FAO said during the event.
