PPWR marks a new chapter for circular packaging in Europe
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is the first EU-wide packaging governance that strengthens circularity within Europe and promotes the use of renewable resources grown across Europe, making the EU more resilient to energy crises and external influences, while enhancing the EU’s competitiveness. Mondi unveils award-winning packaging concept
Mondi has developed an award-winning packaging concept that combines a corrugated outer box with a recyclable, laser-marked flexible packaging. Designed for eCommerce and bag-in-box applications, the concept can be applied across a range of flexible packaging formats and demonstrates how innovative packaging design can support circularity and improve supply chain efficiency. The concept uses laser marking technology to apply artwork directly onto the flexible packaging during converting, eliminating the need for conventional decorative printing and associated printing plates. This enables personalisation, fast artwork updates and greater design flexibility, allowing customers to respond more quickly to market trends and changing consumer preferences. › more |

Hyogo Pulp Industries places repeat order with Andritz for pulp washing and refining
Hyogo Pulp Industries, Ltd. has awarded international technology group Andritz an order to supply a second DD-Washer drum displacer washer and a blowline refiner to its Tanigawa mill in Japan. The order will support the mill’s plans to expand production capacity while advancing its sustainability goals. Start-up is scheduled for May 2028. The value of the order will not be disclosed. It is included in Andritz’s order intake for the first quarter of 2026. › more |

Toscotec to complete cogeneration plant upgrade at Cartiera del Vignaletto
Toscotec completed an energy-saving project at Cartiera del Vignaletto at its facility in Zevio, near Verona. The project features the complete upgrade of the cogeneration plant and air systems of the mill’s PM4 and PM5.
