Korean tobacco manufacturer Tae-A Industry Corporation has purchased a TT SYD MG Steel Yankee Dryer from Toscotec to replace their cast iron dryer on PM1 at their Daejeon mill in the Republic of Korea. The project is planned for start-up in 2025. Compared with the existing cast iron dryer, the new TT SYD MG will increase the machine’s production capacity and energy efficiency, as well as guarantee higher operational safety.

A Bellmer TurboJetter headbox has been successfully started up at Asia Paper Shiwa PM1 in Korea. The delivery was based on repeat order after a successful start-up of a similar headbox two years ago. The 5,95 m wide 4-ply-liner board machine is originally of Valmet supply. The max. speed of the machine is 870 m/min and annual production can reach 280,000 tons. The mill is located in greater capital region of Seoul.

Valmet is to supply an OptiWin Drum two-drum base winder to Wuzhou Special Paper’s paper machine PM 19 in China. The main target of the investment is to have one winder to handle the high quality and capacity targets of the high-speed paper machine. The winder includes Valmet Perforating Splicer, a new innovation to support the fast parent roll change. The start-up of the winder is scheduled for 2025. The order is included in Valmet's orders received of the second quarter 2024. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

International technology group Andritz has been selected to perform the front-end engineering design (FEED) for a large-scale carbon capture unit for Westenergy’s waste-to-energy plant in Mustasaari, Finland. This project will make a significant contribution to decarbonization and the circular economy. The order was received from Eccu Ltd, a joint venture of Westenergy Ltd, CPC Finland Oy and funds managed by Prime Capital AG.

The planting machine BraSatt, Södra's investment in new advanced technology for better plant survival, has now been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Awards. The innovation agency Boid and Södra have won the Best-of-the-Best prize in the category “Autonomous”. Södra continuously develops innovations that benefit forest farms, but uniquely for this project have also developed their own technology. With BraSatt, Södra aims to accelerate innovation in planting, as it contributes to significant improvements for family forestry by increasing plant survival and forest growth.

International technology group Andritz has received an order from the German waste management service provider MVA Bielefeld-Herford GmbH to supply an EcoFluid bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) boiler system for a new sewage sludge mono-incineration plant. With this plant, the company will ensure the reliable disposal of sewage sludge and enable the recovery of valuable phosphorus.
