The new onsite PCC plant operated on behalf of Surint Omya Chemicals Thailand Co., Ltd. (a joint venture of Omya) is scheduled to start production in Q3 2015 with a capacity of 45,000 dry metric tons per year. The plant will supply PCC fillers optimized for uncoated woodfree paper production and uses the Omya Multifill^® concept to maximize the calcium carbonate filler level in the paper sheet.

PCC is an essential raw material for paper manufacturing and responsible for key properties such as bulk, opacity, whiteness and printability. Omya secured a competitive bid where Thai Paper assessed items such as product quality, cost, technical capability and technical service.
