The local market leader in the heart of the Ruhr region produces about 205.000 t/y of containerboard and plasterboard liner . The company employs a staff of about 140 and will be structurally integrated into Hamburger Rieger, the German subsidiary of Prinzhorn Holding. The acquisition is executed retroactively for January 1, 2014. All involved parties agreed to not disclose the purchasing price.

Paper factory Peters specializes in manufacturing packaging and technical specialty paper such as white and brown testliners and plasterboard liner. All paper products are manufactured from 100% recycled paper. The Peters acquisition increases the production volume of Hamburger Rieger in Germany to approximately 670.000 t of containerboard.

“The integration of the factory in Gelsenkirchen will yield numerous synergies with our existing production locations in Germany,” explains Cord Prinzhorn, CEO and owner representative for Prinzhorn Holding.
