On the evening of the first exhibition day the association Zellcheming e.V. invites exhibitors, visitors and conference attendees to an exhibitors’ reception to network business opportunities while enjoying a relaxed end of the day. The motto of the evening is “Welcome to Frankfurt” with local hessian specialities and background music. On Wednesday, 25 June 2014 the traditional summer evening takes place in the Portalhaus which offers a spectacular view over Frankfurt.

The 109th Zellcheming Annual Meeting is dedicated to the worldwide challenges climate change, scarcity of natural resources as well as rising prices of raw material and energy. These topics will be illuminated from different perspectives in the Business Forum, in the lecture series “Science & Innovation” as well as in the Cellulose Chemists Symposium.

The lecture series “Science & Innovation” deals with advanced applications for paper fibres and papers. Paper is seen as reinforcement fibre for composite material as well as deep-drawing material. Ideas for new paper products such as antibacterial papers will be presented and information will be provided upon new basic research findings for example the pressure on paper in the paper press or the current understanding of the variables on paper strength.
