UPM: Grada to be highlighted at EcoDesign Exhibition in Milan

Several designs made of UPM Grada thermo-formable wood material are in spotlight at EcoDesign exhibition held at La Triennale design museum in Milan, Italy on April 8 to13.

EcoDesign showcases ecological designs in which sustainability has been a focus through the process – material selection, design, production, product use and recycling and disposal at end of life.

The UPM Grada part of the exhibition consist of pieces from the top Finnish designers; Eero Aarnio, Harri Koskinen, Kristiina Lassus, Antti Olin, Kasper Nyman, Jouko Järvisalo, Esa Vesmanen, Mikko Paakkanen, Mika Ihanus, Antti Kotilainen, Samuli Naamanka and Ilmari Tapiovaara. The new innovative material have been used in chairs, shelves, space dividers and interior items.

“UPM Grada is an ideal material for ecological designs. The material contains no harmful compounds, it is durable and enables new design possibilities. The material has been manufactured using certified raw materials from well-managed forests. UPM Grada can be safely recycled at the end of life,” explains Mikko Tilli from UPM.
