In line with AFRY’s ambition to accelerate growth in cyber-security and to “become a leader in security within the industry and society as a whole”, AFRY has signed an agreement to acquire Weop to strengthen its offer of cyber-security advisory services in the Nordics.
Weop is a cyber-security and national security consultancy company offering organisational and system-level advisory services in the defence, industry and critical infrastructure sectors. The company was founded in 2011 and over the last 10 years, has built a solid reputation within the Swedish security community and has shown strong and continued growth. Weop provides senior national security advisory services to both the governmental and private sectors, as well as requirements management and architecture and design of highly secure IT systems.
“Weop is a great addition to build on our ambition to make society more secure. With AFRY’s industry knowledge, broad cyber-security expertise and defence business, this acquisition will generate important business solutions for a broad client base,” says Erik Heilborn, VP, Head of Business Area Systems Management, AFRY.
“AFRY has a broad client base in defence, industry, and critical infrastructure and a very good reputation for its wide-ranging and deep expertise. AFRY expertise in many areas complements Weop’s expertise and it’s a perfect match. We look forward to being part of AFRY’s focused effort on security and cyber security in national security and critical infrastructure,” says John Daniels, CEO of Weop.
The company has annual sales of 23 MSEK and 26 consultants based in Sweden. Weop will be consolidated into AFRY as of 1st April 2022.
