The Lenzing Group opened the new “Lenzing Center of Excellence” (LCOE) located at its Indonesian site in Purwakarta. Thanks to the LCOE, the Lenzing Group is setting a further milestone in intensifying its cooperation with its partners along the value chain. With this step, it enhances its efforts to jointly conduct research and development work on new yarns. The Lenzing Center of Excellence also offers laboratory and analytical facilities to conduct trials and analyses of various types of fibers and yarns in order to further improve product quality.
“The LCOE is already running at full speed and has aroused extensive interest on the part of customers and partners. It is an important step in the implementation of our corporate strategy sCore TEN”, says Robert van de Kerkhof, Chief Commercial Officer of the Lenzing Group. “The proximity to important Asian customers and partners creates a new dimension in our service offering. We can react more quickly to current trends and handle a broad spectrum of application aspects on location in collaboration with our supply partners thanks to our complete range of fibers and unique fiber blends”, van de Kerkhof adds.
“Following the opening of the Application and Innovation Center in Hong Kong, the Indonesian LCOE represents a further step towards strengthening Lenzing’s partnership with its customers. The LCOE bundles activities and innovation capabilities in the area of fiber to yarn. In contrast, the Hong Kong center mainly focuses on yarn to fashion. With this, we have brought full fiber to fashion innovation capabilities to Asia. I hope that this new center will truly become an example of excellence, both in conversion technology and our partnership with customers”, says Vineet Singhal, Senior Vice President AMEA.
The Lenzing Center of Excellence was put into operation at the end of 2018 and is open to visitors from the entire textile industry. It complements the chain of innovation and application centers of the Lenzing Group in Lenzing (Austria), Purwakarta and Hong Kong.
