Succession in the Heimbach Management Board

From 1 October 2020, Marco Esper will join the Management Board of Heimbach GmbH. He will succeed Peter Michels, who will retire on 31 December 2020 after 25 successful years as Managing Director.

Until then, Marco Esper and Peter Michels will jointly manage the Paper Machine Clothing Division (PMC) of the Heimbach Group and ensure a smooth transition.

The other areas of responsibility in the management team remain unchanged:

  • Werner Dilly for Finance,
  • Dr. Ralf Kaldenhoff for the Technical Textiles Division.

After a successful introductory period, by 1 January 2021 at the latest, Marco Esper will take over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Marco Esper studied processing and process engineering (paper technology) at the Technical University of Dresden. After various positions as an engineer in technology, project management, PMC service and as sales director at Voith Paper in Heidenheim and in China, he was most recently responsible for the Products & Services Division and a member of the Board of Manage-ment of the Voith Paper Group Division.

“In a family business with over 200 years of tradition, I was able to play a decisive role in shaping a period of almost 25 years as Managing Director. We have pushed ahead with the internationali-sation of the Heimbach Group and asserted our independence in a consolidating market,” stated Peter Michels, looking back on his years as Managing Director and most recently as Spokesman of the Management Board. “At this point, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to our customers and the employees of the Heimbach Group for their trust and the good cooperation.”

„I am very pleased that with Marco Esper we have gained an international leadership personality for Heimbach – with industry experience in our highest-turnover division. He will keep the company on its growth path,” said Rainer Schneider, Chairman of the Administrative Board.
