Showcasing at the MIAC and ABTCP: emtec’s innovative testing solutions for the pulp and paper industry

To demonstrate their innovative paper testing technologies, Leipzig-based company emtec Electronic will be present at two prestigious paper and pulp exhibitions in October. Visitors will be able to connect with emtec at the International Pulp and Paper Congress and Exhibition ABTCP 2026 in Sao Paulo, Brazil from October 6 to 8 and the International Exhibition of Paper Industry MIAC in Lucca, Italy from October 7 and 9.

Sappi Europe announces price increases for wet glue label papers

Sappi Europe announces a price increase of €37 per tonne for Wet Glue Label grade, Parade Label Pro and €97 per tonne for Wet Strength Label grade Parade Label WS. These increases will apply to new orders and deliveries as from 1st November 2026. While ongoing efficiency initiatives and cost-control measures enabled Sappi to absorb and offset a portion of the rising costs the adjustment is essential to ensure sustainable supply.

Sappi launches Parade Face Edge for oil- and grease-resistant self-adhesive labels

Sappi Europe has launched Parade Face Edge, a one-side coated semi-gloss paper for self-adhesive labels used on products that can come into contact with oils and grease. The new 80 g/m2 face stock combines a grease-resistant fibre base with advanced coating technology. This construction provides resistance to grease on the surface of the label and helps prevent oil from penetrating through its cut edge.

Toscotec to support Pianeta Terra Festival 2026

Toscotec is proud to support Pianeta Terra Festival 2026, the major multidisciplinary cultural event held annually in Lucca, Italy, taking place on October 8-11. BASF launches paper coating dispersions with reduced Product Carbon Footprint

BASF is launching a portfolio of dispersions for paper coating with a reduced Product Carbon Footprint (rPCF). Paper coating binders produced at the Ludwigshafen Verbund site are now available with approximately 20% to 45% lower Product Carbon Footprints1 than the corresponding conventional products.

Valmet supplies a complete board making line for efficient premium-quality coated board production in Asia

Valmet has been selected to supply a coated board making line, automation, and lifecycle services to a customer in Asia. The new line will produce premium-quality coated board grades and support the customer’s targets to strengthen their position as a leading producer in their field. The delivery will support the customer’s unique know-how and enable them to reach new levels of combined quality and production efficiency. The start-up of the machine is scheduled for 2028.

With the b maXX drivePLC, Baumüller is leveraging its many years of experience in the field of drive-integrated control units to develop a modern, open, and CRA-compliant automation platform. Control, motion control, and technology functions are executed directly within the servo drive in real-time controller cycles with cycle times down to 250 μs using the b maXX drivePLC. This creates highly synchronous processes with fast response times and high control accuracy. Running the application directly in the drive reduces communication overhead and takes the load off the fieldbus. The result is more precise motion sequences, higher machine output, and increased productivity.

Sappi Europe announces price increase for coated mechanical reels

Sappi Europe announced a general price increase of 20 Euros per tonne, or local currency equivalent across its Coated Mechanical portfolio, effective for all deliveries from October 2026. This adjustment is driven by a continued escalation in key input costs and the need to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of their operations.

Nomination Committee at Holmen

Holmen’s Annal General Meeting has decided that the Nomination Committee shall consist of the Chairman of the Board and one representative of each of the company’s three largest shareholders (in terms of voting rights) as of 31 August each year. If any shareholder declines to participate in the nomination committee or chooses to leave it, the right to appoint a representative shall pass to the next largest shareholder in terms of voting rights.

Image Systems’ business area RemaSawco receives an order worth approximately SEK 1.5 million from Nordic sawmill

RemaSawco has signed an agreement with a Nordic sawmill for the delivery and installation of RemaSawco’s new saw line control system. The agreement also includes a service level agreement (SLA). Installation and commissioning costs will be charged separately. The total order value amounts to just under SEK 1.5 million.

Spinnova signs letter of intent regarding potential acquisition of Tearfil

Spinnova Plc (“Spinnova” or the “company”), a materials technology company producing textile fibre from wood pulp and waste streams, has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Tearfil – Indústria Têxtil, S.A. (“Tearfil”) and its shareholders concerning a potential acquisition by Spinnova of all shares in Tearfil. Tearfil is a Portuguese yarn spinning company and a key development partner in Spinnova’s ecosystem.
