Nanning Sun Paper Co., Ltd. has awarded international technology group Andritz repeat orders to supply main process technology and key equipment for its third pulp mill line, as well as equipment for the new paper machine PM21, in Nanning, Guangxi Province, China. Start-up is scheduled for mid-2027. The orders have a total value in the mid double-digit million-euro range. They are included in Andritz’s order intake for the second quarter of 2026.

Jeonju Paper Corporation has selected Valmet to rebuild a press section and predryer section in their paper machine PM 5 in South Korea. The rebuild will improve overall machine efficiency and support the customer’s sustainability targets, ensuring reliable, energy-efficient operation of the paper machine. The start-up is scheduled for fall of 2027.

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is set to reshape packaging requirements, demanding minimisation of packaging, reuse, and recycling at scale. To date, many brands have focused their PPWR compliance efforts on meeting the basic requirements for the August 2026 deadline: minimising packaging, reducing hazardous substances, adding traceable batch or serial numbers, and creating declarations of conformity for each packaging type.

Valmet has been selected by Sappi Southern Africa to deliver a full EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) package for the replacement of recovery boiler components at the Saiccor Mill in South Africa. PulPac announces Papela’s participation in the Blister Pack Collective, the cross-industry initiative created by PA Consulting, a Jacobs company, and PulPac to advance Dry Molded Fiber blister packaging. Menang, a Malaysian manufacturer of nonwoven automotive components, has resumed production after a major fire severely damaged its airlay line in mid-March 2026. A new airlay line supplied by Andritz enabled production to restart within only four months.

Wallenius Sol has announced the acquisition of two RoRo vessels from Royal Wagenborg, Bothniaborg and Balticborg, together with a long-term Contract of Affreightment (CoA) with Smurfit Westrock, Europe's largest kraftliner mill, located in Piteå, Sweden. The agreement marks a significant step in Wallenius Sol's continued build-out of a scalable, sustainable maritime infrastructure connecting the Bay of Bothnia with the European continent.
