Congress of ZELLCHEMING-Expo 2016 with focus on recovered paper: Future challenges and new approaches Dear ipw-reader, the countdown has started: The congress running parallel to ZELLCHEMING-Expo 2016 will soon open its doors. Participants can gain an exclusive and up-to-date insight into the latest developments in the field of raw materials and fibers. The second exhibition day is themed "Future of recovered paper as raw material" Representatives of the companies UPM, Entsorgungstechnik Bavaria, SCA Hygiene Products, Papier- und Kartonfabrik Varel as well as the Technical University of Darmstadt give their opinion in the form of a brief five-minute statement. During the following discussion hosted by Markus Gürne, head of the stock market news division of the German TV channel ARD, experts talk about "Waste paper sorting and application, requirements for waste paper and challenges for the processing". Lectures on new approaches in the use of recovered paper will be presented by Annika Bjärestrand, Research Associate of the company Innventia AB from Sweden and Alain Lascar, Technology & Marketing Director of the French branch office of the U.S. company Kadant. Supply guarantee and resource alternatives are the topics of Thorsten Feldt, Managing Director of REMONDIS Trades and Sales GmbH as well as Michiel Adriaanse, Program director fiber raw materials of the company KCPK from the Netherlands. On the third day, the congress closes with lectures on "Fiber resources for specialty papers" presented by Holger Baumgartner, Nennah Gessner GmbH, Germany. Congress convinces through expertise from well-known speakers Dr. Joachim Schönbeck, board member of the technology group Andritz, opens the Congress. In the following Vesa Simola, Area President of Valmet GmbH, Germany reports about his company’s innovations in the field of bio-refineries. Martin Kleinebrecht, Marketing & Portfolio Management Leader of the German branch office of JM Engineered Products from the USA, shows how to develop new business fields by using the example of the glass matt industry. The lecture "Beyond Pulp and Paper" from Kirsi Seppäläinen, Senior Vice President Communications at Stora Enso Biomaterials from Finland as well as the topic "Industry 4.0 – Optimized paper producing processes by means of the internet of things" from Dr. Christian Naydowski, Voith Paper GmbH & Co. KG, round off the program on the first day. Valmet to supply a sulfuric acid plant to the Metsä Group bioproduct mill in Äänekoski, Finland
Valmet will supply a sulfuric acid plant to Metsä Group's bioproduct mill in Äänekoski for in-house sulfuric acid production. By means of the new sulfuric acid plant of its own the bioproduct mill can utilize the chemicals in the odorous gases of the pulp manufacturing process. This will help to reduce the wastewater load considerably. The start-up of the plant is scheduled for the third quarter of 2017. › more |
