Norske Skog has entered into an agreement concerning sale of Klosterøya to a consortium consisting of Conceptor Eiendomsutvikling AS and Bratsberg Gruppen AS, and has at the same time also finalised sale of a property at Nedre Ranheim. The total proceeds are approximately NOK 240 million, approx. EUR 30 million.more

Production started at Braviken Sawmill, the largest in Scandinavia. The first log for a customer order was cut up on 12 January. Production focuses on spruce construction timber that is sold to customers primarily in Scandinavia and on the European market.more

Holmen has reached a new long-term electricity supply agreement with Vattenfall. The agreement means that Holmen will purchase some 0.9 TWh of electricity per year from Vattenfall - almost a third of the purchased electricity that Holmen needs - for a six-year period beginning in 2016.more

Södra: Pulp price remains USD 950/t for January |

Södra has confirmed that it is maintaining its price for softwood pulp in Europe at USD 950 per tonne, valid from 1 January 2011. “The market for softwood pulp is balanced”, said Ulf Edman, President of Södra Cell International.
