TU Graz and Mondi set up strategic partnership

The Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) and Mondi Group have set up a strategic partnership oriented to research and education. At the Faculty of Technical Chemistry, Chemical and Process Engineering and Biotechnology at TU Graz, Mondi will endow two professorships, one in Pulping and Paper Technology and one in Food Contact Materials. In addition to research, a further focus of the strategic partnership will be future-oriented teaching and the training of young talent in business and science.


T.CON earns SAP award for excellent mill expertise in Germany

For the first time, SAP SE honors T.CON's excellent expertise for the mill process industry. As a demonstration of the outstanding expert know-how of T.CON in the industry, T.CON can now display the “SAP Recognized Expertise in the mill products industry in Germany” certificate.


European pulp and paper industry creates 2,000 more jobs in 2018

In 2018, CEPI members produced 92.2 million tonnes of paper and board, keeping the same level of production than in 2017, and benefiting from a healthy economic environment. The 2018 data confirms the longstanding trend of increased production in packaging, hygiene and speciality paper sectors while graphic paper continues to decline, following the demand reduction.


Bee-helping packaging winner of PIDA

For the 15th year in a row, the French edition of PIDA - Packaging Impact Design Award, was held in Reims, and this year, sustainability and recycling were in focus. The contesting design students from France and Germany presented creative and fun ideas on how to package clothes, accessories and beauty products in a more environmentally friendly way. And the design that had the best concept according to the jury, was Save the bees, created by students from Hochschule der Medien, in Stuttgart.

Jori Ringman becomes Director General of CEPI

CEPI, the European association representing the forest fibre and paper industry, announces that Jori Ringman has unanimously been appointed by the CEPI Board as successor to Sylvain Lhôte at the helm of the Brussels-based organisation.

FESPA returns to Munich in 2021

FESPA today announces that the flagship Global Print Expo will return to Munich, Germany, in 2021, together with its co-located event for non-printed signage, European Sign Expo. The events will run for four days, from 18 to 21 May 2021. This will be the event’s sixth return to the Bavarian capital.


New president for International Council of Forest and Paper Associations

The International Council of Forest and Paper Associations (ICFPA) has announced Sylvain Lhôte as its new president.
