Toscotec successfully completed a hood rebuild on PM 1 at WEPA Mainz in Germany. After a tight shutdown timeframe, PM 1 started up on schedule last year. Following a period of stable running conditions, it successfully completed the performance test, and outperformed the technical guarantees of the rebuild by having excellent results for drying capacity and gas consumption.
On September 11, Valmet has entered into an agreement to acquire PMP Group in Poland. The enterprise value of the acquisition is approximately EUR 64 million, plus a conditional and capped earn-out component. The acquisition is estimated to be completed on October 1, 2020 at the earliest.

The new intelligent solution for pulp drying, Metris DryQ, developed by international technology group ANDRITZ, is operating successfully at the Montes del Plata pulp mill in Punta Pereira, Uruguay. It was installed in September 2019 as part of a mill-wide service agreement called SYNERGY, which includes remote support and local assistance by ANDRITZ experts, with the aim of boosting dryer performance and stabilizing the process.
To minimise the spread of Covid-19, mills are very restrictive to receive visitors unless critical to mill production. On top of that, several travel restrictions are in place and even changing from time to time which makes personal visits very difficult. PulpEye has therefore created a special service package including weekly follow-ups on remote basis to overcome these problems.
