Holmen invests in a new drying plant at Iggesund Sawmill

Iggesund Sawmill is being modernised to allow for an increase in production. Holmen is currently investing SEK 70 million in a new drying plant which will increase its drying capacity from 400 000 to 500 000 m3.

Toscotec to deliver a Steel Yankee Dryer to C. Y. P. Del R. S.A., Colombia

Toscotec will supply a second-generation TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer to the Colombian tissue manufacturer Cartones Y Papeles Del Risaralda. The new TT SYD will replace a cast iron Yankee on PM1 at its Risaralda mill in Western Colombia. The dryer will increase PM1’s production capacity, while reducing its overall specific consumptions through a substantial reduction of the hoods’ drying contribution.

International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill, a member of the Segezha Group (part of PJSC Sistema), to supply stock preparation equipment for its mill in Segezha, Republic of Karelia, Russia. Start-up is scheduled for the beginning of 2021.

Valmet to supply an extensive paper machine grade conversion rebuild to Modern Karton in Turkey

Valmet will supply an extensive paper machine grade conversion rebuild and a wide scope of automation to Modern Karton Sanayii Ve Ticaret at its Tekirdag Mill in Turkey. In the project, paper machine PM 3 which is currently producing recycled containerboard, will be rebuilt to produce high quality coated containerboard grades. The start-up of the rebuilt paper machine is scheduled for the beginning of 2022.

PTT: Paperboard replaces paper as most important export product of the Finnish Forest Industry

Global production and consumption began to recover in the summer, but in Europe and North America, the recovery has been weaker than in China. The strong recovery of general demand and demand for forest products requires that a vaccine becomes available. Demand for graphic papers will decrease sharply this year, and with that exports.

Toscotec starts up two AHEAD 2.0L tissue lines at Sofidel America

Two Toscotec-supplied AHEAD 2.0L tissue machines came online at Sofidel America’s mill in Inola, Oklahoma. Shortly after start-up, the two lines met Sofidel’s quality standards, and have been running at a high operation efficiency, producing premium quality tissue.
