Valmet will supply OptiConcept M containerboard making line with automation solutions and a winder for GS Paperboard & Packaging (GSPP) Sdn., Bhd. in Selangor, Malaysia. With the new production line PM 3, GSPP will produce high-quality testliner and fluting grades as well as strengthen its position in the Malaysian market. Skjern Papirfabrik A/S, Denmark selects Toscotec to rebuild the dryer section of its PM1
Skjern Papirfabrik A/S chose Toscotec for the complete rebuild of its paper machine’s dryer section at Skjern mill, Denmark. The delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2019. PM1 has a wire width of 3,200 mm and produces core board from 90 to 450 gsm using 100% recycled fibres. › more |

Koepala and Kemira test new renewable packaging formats
Koepala, a sustainable packaging company providing innovative solutions for on-the-go food, and global chemistry expertise company Kemira are pleased to announce a cooperative partnership. This partnership is a result of the recent "Food for Thought" innovation challenge, which Koepala won. The challenge looked for new business models and alternatives to single-use plastics in food packaging. As a result, the two companies started to work collaboratively to test their solutions. › more |

Stora Enso starts co-determination process regarding the possible conversion of the Oulu paper mill into packaging board mill and closure of one paper machine
Stora Enso starts co-determination negotiations with employees at Oulu Mill in Finland regarding a plan to convert the paper mill into packaging board production and the closure of paper machine 6 and a sheeting plant. The planned change could result in a reduction of a maximum of 400 employees at the mill. The decision on the potential conversion will be made by the Stora Enso Board of Directors during the first half of 2019 after the co-determination process has been completed. › more |

Stora Enso ranked the best in a new diversity comparison in Finland
Stora Enso received the highest scores in the FINDIX report, which was published for the first time today. The study examined the diversity of 89 Finnish companies through five different variables. These include gender distribution, age distribution, international background, educational background and industry-specific background of management teams and board of directors. The variables are based on the Finnish Securities Market Association’s corporate governance code, where they are highlighted as factors promoting diversity. › more |
