Valmet to supply press section technology for Marusumi Paper

Valmet will supply a paper machine rebuild to Marusumi Paper's Ohe mill in Japan. The rebuild includes a new press section utilizing Valmet's modern shoe press technology. The main target of the rebuild is to decrease energy consumption at the plant. The rebuilt machine will be started up during fourth quarter of 2016.

Successful start-up of the Toscotec delivered TM19 at the WEPA Giershagen mill in Germany

After one year of work, the new tissue line of WEPA Giershagen (Germany) has been started-up on October 27, 2015, far in advance of the schedule and only 13 months after the delivery agreement signing.

BillerudKorsnäs is recognized by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) for leadership in transparency by disclosing its ecological footprint in the WWF Environmental Paper Company Index 2015 (EPCI). This years’ Index shows a positive trend towards more transparency and sustainability in the industry.

Leena Mörttinen to join Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board of Directors

At a meeting held on 5 November 2015, the Supervisory Board of Metsä Group’s parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative, elected Leena Mörttinen, Doctor of Social Sciences (Econ.) to be a new member of Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board of Directors as of 1 January 2016. Mörttinen is the Executive Director of Family Business Network Finland.

WWF´s Environmental Paper Company Index shows continual improvement by leading pulp and paper producers

The WWF Environmental Paper Company Index (EPCI) 2015 shows a positive trend towards more transparency and sustainability by the world’s more progressive pulp and paper manufacturers. The 31 voluntary participants in this year´s Index together produce 15% of the world´s paper and board and 15% of the world´s pulp. While all participating manufacturers demonstrated outstanding transparency, more than 90% of product categories reported since 2013 showed improvement.

Corrugated industry’s top suppliers awarded prizes at FEFCO Technical Seminar 2015

Some of today’s most exciting corrugated suppliers’ new ideas were rewarded with prizes at the Technical Seminar in Barcelona, hosted by FEFCO, the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers. Innovative concepts in digital printing, box making, and workplace safety were awarded coveted trophies on Friday, October 30, at the end of the three-day FEFCO event.

Toscotec starts up its first AHEAD-1.5M tissue machine at Yuen Foong Yu Taiwan

The Toscotec-supplied AHEAD-1.5M tissue machine has started up at Yuen Foong Yu’s Chingshui mill in Taiwan. Yuen Foong Yu Paper, with its famous brand Mayflower, is currently the largest paper manufacturer in Taiwan and it ranks 49th in the world.
