Successful ramp-up of the expansion in the UPM Kymi pulp mill

The ramp-up of the UPM Kymi pulp mill expansion has proceeded well on schedule. The EUR 160 million UPM investment project was started in the spring of 2014 and has now proceeded to final finishing work.

Voith: New Paper product in the market

Voith announced the sale of the 100th HydroSeal sealing strip system for suction rolls. Another step up the ladder of success for the sealing strip system after the State of Baden-Württemberg had awarded Voith with its Environmental Technology Prize for the HydroSeal in July.

Metsä Board starts installation of new folding boxboard machine at Husum

Metsä Board is continuing a EUR 170 million investment programme at its Husum mill in Sweden. From mid-October till the beginning of January 2016 the company is installing a new folding boxboard machine, BM1, at the mill and closing down paper machines PM6 and PM7.

Tranlin, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of a leading Chinese pulp and paper company, officially broke ground today on its first U.S. operation, a $2 billion advanced manufacturing facility. Tranlin’s investment is located in Chesterfield, Virginia and will generate more than 2,000 direct jobs in Virginia by 2020.

GP Announces $110 Million Investment At Alabama River Cellulose

Georgia-Pacific today announced plans for $110 million in upgrades to its Alabama River Cellulose (ARC) mill. The investments include replacing one of the mill’s two existing wood yards that process incoming logs, upgrading the other wood yard and a major upgrade to one of the mill’s machines that produce pulp.

Successful start-up of Toscotec AHEAD tissue line at AMS BR Star Paper

The cooperation between the Italian supplier Toscotec and AMS BR Star Paper, part of Portucel–Soporcel Group, continues. A new AHEAD-2.0S has been started up at Vila Velha de Ródão plant, in the east of Portugal. The mill already houses another Toscotec AHEAD-2.0S line started up in 2009.
