Andritz: Extensive rebuild of Stora Ensoʼs Varkaus mill, Finland

Andritz received an order from Stora Enso to rebuild the fiberline, evaporation plant, recausticizing plant, recovery boiler, and recycled fiber plant at the Varkaus pulp mill, Finland. Start-up is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2015.

ABB: Power solutions at Klabin's Puma project, Brazil

ABB will supply a 34.5 kV power distribution system, based on gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) technology, for Klabin’s major new pulp mill being constructed in Ortigueira, Brazil. The contract, booked in the second quarter of 2014, is valued at USD 20 million and includes design, supply, commissioning and startup services.

BillerudKorsnäs: Investing for growth in sack paper markets

The BillerudKorsnäs Board of Directors has approved a SEK 260 million (EUR 28 million) investment for sack PM 9 at the Skärblacka production unit. The investment will further add to the quality leadership of the BillerudKorsnäs sack paper range and will also increase the capacity of the machine by 20 000 up to 180 000 t/y.

Toscotec: Rebuilt PM 2 started up at L.C. Paper, Spain

At the beginning of October, the Spanish Company L.C. Paper 1881 has started up PM2 in Besalu after a major dry-end rebuild with Toscotec and its associate Milltech.
