Dear ipw reader,

it looks as if SCA starts to race!

In fact, the world’s second-largest hygiene company and Europe’s largest private forest owner is participating with a boat with an all-female crew in the next round of the world Volvo Ocean Race in 2014-2015, one of the sporting world’s most challenging events.

I think this is a wise decision, given that 80% of company's consumers are women and I am curious to see how this committment will change SCA's image globally.

By the way: For next season, famous fashion house Jil Sander promotes a plain paper bag as must-have accessoire for a man's outfit. It looks like a lunch-bag, is made out of uncoated cardboard, adorned with nothing but the brand's logo and will be sold for about EUR 200.

Both cases show that there are ways to promote paper as a valuable good instead of a disposable and that's good news!

All the best & stay tuned

your ipw team
