Eluding the rising cost of silicone

These days, the word 'silicone' frequently comes with a sign of exasperation as thoughts turn to how hard the bottom line is going to be as prices for the material continue to rocket. Silicone is a base material used to facilitate the production of everyday items across a vast range of industries including, medical, household electrical and many more. The rising cost of electricity in China, a major global provider, plus the price of crude oil, means silicone suppliers are finding that their profit margins are being squeezed. Stora Enso ranked the best in a new diversity comparison in Finland

Stora Enso received the highest scores in the FINDIX report, which was published for the first time today. The study examined the diversity of 89 Finnish companies through five different variables. These include gender distribution, age distribution, international background, educational background and industry-specific background of management teams and board of directors. Valmet to supply cooking, fiberline and recausticizing technology, as well as a new lime kiln to Naini Papers in India

Valmet has been selected to deliver the key process technology for a new cooking, fiberline and recausticizing plant, as well as a new lime kiln, at Naini Papers' mill in India.
