Stora Enso honoured with Biorenewable Deployment Consortium’s Forest Products Innovation Award

Stora Enso was honoured with Biorenewable Deployment Consortium (BDC)’s 2020 Forest Products Innovation Award for the culture of innovation and leadership in the deployment of new sustainable biorenewable processes directed toward achieving the full value of trees. The award was presented virtually on Thursday, 22 October, as part of a webcast presentation given by Stora Enso about their innovation progress to attending BDC members, guests, and media.

“BDC is proud to honour Stora Enso with its 2020 Forest Products Innovation Award,” said BDC President and Co-Founder Masood Akhtar. “Stora Enso is an excellent example of a company that has developed a culture in the deployment of biorenewable processes that will add value to operations and make the company more viable for the future. This is the reason that Stora Enso refers to itself as the renewable materials company.”

“It is an honor for us to be recognised by BDC. This award is special to us because our approach to innovation combines our capabilities with renewable materials to drive change towards a more sustainable future. We accept this award on behalf of our worldwide team who are dedicated to innovation in the area of biorenewable products and processes,” said Lauri Lehtonen, Head of Innovation, Division Biomaterials, who received the award virtually on behalf of Stora Enso.
